About Weekend Plans

This Web site is a resource for young Asian Americans living and working in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Networking is an important part of being part of any community. The activities and links found on this web site are to help people network and make new contacts.

Progressive Dinners

Our Progressive Dinner concept is to create a networking event where people can meet in a casual social setting, have fun, and eat dinner.

The traditional progressive dinner is where you progress from place to place eating dinner – having cocktails at the first place, appetizers at the next, eating the salad at the next location, the entrée at another, and finishing off with dessert and a party at the last place.

Our Progressive Dinners are similar but confined to a single location. A room is reserved at a restaurant and people move from table to table between each course.

These dinners are networking events. Everyone attending wears nametags. Activities are planned to facilitate meeting new people and learning a bit about them. We try to coordinate the seating arrangements and table switching so that most people will meet 10-20 new people over the course of the evening.

Some attendees come to expand their business and social contacts. Others come just to have fun and try out a new restaurant with a group of people.

Progressive Dinners are open to anyone and everyone who wants to meet new people
